Eagle Preserve Rafting Trip
Experienced guides. Small groups. Longer trip times. We take you off the beaten path and into the heart of Alaska’s Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve.
The watersheds of the Preserve, fed by freshwater upwellings and swollen by melting glaciers, are rich with fish and wildlife including five species of Pacific salmon; bald eagles, trumpeter swans, and nearly 100 other bird species; and large mammals including brown and black bears, moose, lynx, wolverines, river otters, foxes, and mountain goats.
Your guide will choose a route on one of the Preserve’s three rivers to optimize your opportunities to view eagles and other wildlife. There is no whitewater on this trip. Rafting glacially braided rivers offers a fun mix of swift, exhilarating sections, and serene floating. Bring your camera, binoculars, and a sense of awe.
This is the perfect Alaska adventure to enjoy with family and friends (ages 4 and up).
Includes: 5-hour guided tour, door to door shuttle service, waterproof boots, rain gear, lifejackets, and a hearty snack featuring locally-caught smoked salmon.
