Things that are not included with every Tatshenshini – Alsek River trip:

Transportation to  Haines

Most travelers will get to Haines Alaska by way of Alaska Airlines from Seattle to Juneau and the Alaska Marine Highway ferry from Juneau to Haines.

Transportation back to Haines or Juneau

Tatshenshini & Alsek River trips officially end in Yakutat Alaska. The rafting portion ends in the remote fishing village of Dry Bay Alaska and while bush plane travel from Dry Bay to Yakutat is included you will need to make your own Alaska Airlines reservations from Yakutat to Juneau and beyond.

Guide Gratuities

Gratuities are optional but greatly appreciated by the guides. Our guides are paid a top wage for their service but this type of work has inherent  travel costs and seasonality that challenges all outdoor professionals. It is a lifestyle choice but your support helps keep the quality and morale high.

Travel Insurance

These trips are logistically complex and subject to numerous variables. Travel delays, canceled flights, missed lodging reservations all have costs and many can not be recouped by Haines Rafting Company. We can not give you a full refund if your trip is cancelled regardless of the reason. This is why we strongly advise you to get trip insurance that specifically covers your river trip cost as well as travel and lodging.
